Vinayaka College of Nursing is located at Sulthan Bathery, the heart of Wayanad in a lush green Campus. Vinayaka College of Nursing was established in 2011 after obtaining INC, KNMC & KUHS recognition under the Chairmanship of Dr. Madhusudhnan the Managing Director Vinayaka Hospital and Vinayaka Educational and Charitable Trust. Vinayaka Educational and Charitable Trust is founded in the year 2011 headed by Dr. Madhusudhnan Other Trustees are Dr. Omana Madhusudhnan, Dr. Randheer Krishnan, Dr. Uma Randheer, Dr. Vishnu Mohan and Dr. Suma Vishnu Mohan. The Trust has made sure that it has duly taken part in philanthropic activities like providing free books, uniforms and fee concession to the underprivileged and the needy. As an institution of higher learning we have a mandate to offer access to equitable, quality nursing education and training for the country to achieve its vision.
The College has branded itself with our vision which is an "A World Class Nursing college" while our mission is to offer quality Nursing Education and Training. Annual intake of student is 40 with 50% Government merit quota and 50% Management merit quota. The college is well equipped with Class rooms, Foundation of nursing lab, Nutrition lab, MCH lab, Community lab. AV Aids Room, Computer lab and Pre-clinical lab as per the INC norms. All theory classes are conducted in the college .The college library is equipped with above 3850 books National and International journals of all specialties of Nursing, Medical and general studies to update their knowledge. Also library is well equipped with internet facility. Vinayaka hospital (150 bedded) provides clinical experience to the students.
Periodic evaluations are conducted by Unit tests, Sessional examinations, Assignments and Clinical evaluations. Three sessional exams are conducted during the academic year followed by PTA meeting where there is close proximity to discuss the students performance. Students with poor performances are identified and special classes are provided by the concerned faculties. Vinayaka Hospital & Charitable trust provides fee concession to economically poor students. Initial health assessment will be carried out during the admission and those who are identified unhealthy and are provided appropriate treatment.
